To visit Russia, you will require two things: a Russia visa and an invitation. There are basically 6 types of Russian visas that you can apply for depending on your purpose of visit. You can apply for the business visa, work visa, travel visa, transit visa, student visa, and personal visa.

The Russian visa fee depends on the type of visa, the type of delivery (standard or express), number of people, and the duration of stay. For example: the standard 7-day delivery fee for a business or travel Russia visa for a single entry is £85 and for double entry, it is £95. But for express delivery, the fee will be almost double. For a single entry, the fee will be £135 and for double entry, it will be £145. Apart from this, there is a handling fee of £30 per application and £50 for express options.

Requirements for Russia Visa application

There are specific requirements for Russia visa application like:

• You need to have a passport that has a validity of at least 6 months
• You need to hold a passport with a minimum of 2 blank pages
• You need to attach at least three passport size photographs on the Russian visa application.
• You need to fill the Russian visas application providing all information as required and sign it.
• You will need to provide a proof of residence in the country you are residing in for processing the Russian visas applications. You should be living in your current residence for at least 3 months. Proof of residence can be in the form of bank statement or utility bills.
• You will require a private invitation certificate also known as izveshchenie or priglashenie. The private invitation certificate is a special document that is sent by OVIR office (Immigration officials) in Russia, business counterpart, university, hotel, friends, and others from Russia. The Russia visas will not be issued without this document.

Things you need to know while applying for Russian Visa

You will need to apply with your Russia visa form and all required documents at a Diplomatic mission or the Russian embassy in your country or city. Except for the Nationals of Germany and certain Asian countries except Japan, citizen of any other country can even for Russian visas from any other country in the world. Citizen of Europe, US, Australia and New Zealand will not be able to apply for a Russian visa from Germany. While applying for Russia Visa, you can submit all your documents through post, by visiting the Russian consulate personally, or through a travel agency in your country.
