India Visa Bulletin

As a experienced agency, we generally observe the patterns of the high commission, and try our very best to keep our clients up to date on how they are working, their new regulations and the time frames that can be expected. We have observe that over the last few months many new rules and regulations have come into play and a generally change in the process has occurred.

It is important that India visa applicants are fully aware of this. Below are our main points:

Non UK Residents Forms - Applications

  • If you are applying for the visa to India using a non UK residents form because you have been in the UK for less than 2 years then it is important to realise the time frames involved. The embassy states that you must expect at least a minimum of 15 days. They do not state a maximum - this is apparently only at the discretion of the embassy.
  • The time frame for non UK resident form holders in the past was between 10-15working days, however this has been increased.

Withdrawal of your India visa

  • It is important that if you have to withdraw your India visa, this can be a length process as well. This can typically take more than 3 working days. Once again the embassy states a minimum time frame and not a maximum one, which naturally leads to the frustration of many Indi visa applications due to this rule. Unfortunately, the embassy will not release this even if you have an emergency.

Time frame of business visas

  • For a one year business visa to be issued, it is important to note that the frequency of these have been massively reduced over the last few months, and there has been a rise in 6 month visas being issued rather than the 1 year. Unfortunately the embassy of India take the same amount of money for this

Two month gap between visits

  • The Indian embassy state that there must be a gap of at least 2 months between trips to India, even if you have a multi entry visa. If however you are using India has a transit point, then you can get special exception if you are able to provide proof using an itinerary or flight tickets as well. Please note that this is not the case if you have a business visa, which allows entry and exit, and re-entry within the 2 month time frame. These points are very important to consider when making your application.
