India visa Tips for first time applicants

There are many important tips you must consider before applying for your India visa. You need to ensure that your India visa application form is completed accurately so that you do not get any delays in your application. As India visa experts, we will ensure that you complete your form accurately. We do thorough checks on all the forms that come in before we put them into the Indian embassy. We have compiled a short list of what we think you need to consider:

Referees

At the bottom of your India visa application form you will see a section which basically asks for referees in India and the uk. For the UK, it would generally be people you want contact in the event of an emergency – ideally friends of family, or others that would be able to react in the vent of anything happening. For the part of the India visa form which asks for Indian referees, you can mention the hotels you may be staying at, or any persons you may know. If you have none of these to hand, which is often the case, then you can basically put the British High commission in India. This will complete the main part of your India visa form.

Duration

Remember, that if you apply for a 1 month single entry India visa, or a 6 month multiple entry India visa, the price is exactly the same. We advice that you always select 6 months multiple on the India visa form so that you get the maximum amount of time available.

Signatures:

Overtime, people change their signatures for whatever reasons they have. However when signing your India visa form, you must ensure that your signature on the form matches the passport signature as well and there is no difference. The India visa centre may cause issues if these are not exactly the same and therefore you must do this to avoid confusion totally.

Clarity

Remember, that your India visa form must state clearly whether it is a tourist visa or business visa. If you are attending say a conference but will be holidaying soon after, then you must ensure that your India visa is either a tourist or business visa.

Clearness

Ensure your writing is as presentable as possible on your India visa form, and that black ink is used. It is common for the Indian embassy to be troublesome about this. All in all, make sure the India visa form is completed accurately
